What We Clear

Site clearance covers a wide range of operations depending on what’s on the ground before work starts. We regularly handle:

Demolition arisings — broken concrete, masonry, brick, block, and structural rubble from partial or full demolitions cleared and removed to licensed processing facilities.

Topsoil and turf strip — the initial strip of topsoil and vegetation from greenfield and brownfield sites ahead of groundworks. Turf, topsoil, and subsoil removed and either stockpiled on site or taken off, depending on your requirements.

Hard standing and surfacing removal — broken concrete slabs, tarmac, block paving, and other existing hard surfaces lifted and removed. Dense material but straightforward for a grab lorry.

Vegetation and green waste — scrub, overgrown hedging, self-seeded trees, brash, roots, and general organic growth cleared ahead of development. Suitable for brownfield sites, infill plots, and neglected land.

Redundant structures — timber sheds, outbuildings, fencing, gates, and lightweight structures dismantled and removed as part of a wider clearance operation.

Mixed construction and renovation waste — end-of-project clearances from refurbishment and fit-out works, post-trade debris, and general site tidying ahead of handover.

Fly-tipped waste — mixed waste, dumped materials, and illegally tipped loads cleared from land ahead of sale, development, or letting. We handle these regularly for landowners, developers, and estate agents.

How We Approach Site Clearance

Most site clearances involve a mix of material types — inert rubble, soil, green waste, timber, and general debris in varying proportions. Rather than requiring you to separate everything into different containers, our grab lorries collect and load mixed arisings directly, sorting the paperwork and disposal routing at the back end.

For larger clearance projects where multiple loads of segregated material are more cost-effective — for example, a large volume of clean concrete rubble that warrants its own load — we’ll advise on the most cost-efficient approach when we quote.

We work as a standalone clearance contractor or alongside your groundworks team, fitting around your programme and access requirements. For multi-load or multi-day jobs, we agree a schedule upfront so you know exactly when vehicles will be on site.

Waste Documentation

Every load that leaves your site during a clearance operation is covered by a waste transfer note — issued as standard, no additional charge. We are registered with SEPA as licensed waste carriers, and all material goes to licensed waste transfer and processing facilities.

For larger projects requiring a duty of care audit trail — development sites, public sector work, or tendered contracts — we can provide copies of our waste carrier registration and insurance documentation on request. If your project requires a waste management plan or specific disposal records, let us know when you enquire and we’ll ensure the paperwork matches your requirements.

What does a site clearance service include?

It depends on what’s on your site and what needs to come off before work can start. We handle demolition arisings, topsoil and turf strip, hard standing removal, vegetation and scrub clearance, redundant structure removal, mixed construction waste, and fly-tipped material. Contact us with a description of your site and we’ll confirm what we can handle and how we’d approach it.

Not for most clearance operations. Our grab lorries are self-loading — the hydraulic arm collects directly from stockpiles, loose arisings, and broken material without needing a separate machine. For larger operations where an excavator is already working on site, we can work alongside it — but it’s not a requirement.

Smaller clearances — a domestic plot, a light demolition, or a modest end-of-project clearance — can often be handled in a single load or a single day. Larger operations are scheduled over multiple visits. When you enquire, tell us the site size and approximate volume and we’ll give you a realistic picture of what’s involved.

All material goes to licensed waste transfer and processing facilities. Where material can be reprocessed or recycled — clean inert rubble to recycled aggregate, timber to wood recycling, green waste to composting — it is routed accordingly rather than straight to landfill. A waste transfer note is issued on every load.

We handle standard construction, demolition, and mixed waste on clearance jobs. We do not accept chemically contaminated material, asbestos, or hazardous waste. If your site has known or suspected contamination, a specialist remediation contractor will be required for that element before or alongside our clearance work. We’re happy to discuss the division of scope if your site has both clean and contaminated areas.
